Michelle and Kevin

Welcome ... to Our Story!

First off, thank you for visiting our wedding website! We are so excited to have you join us in celebration of love between Michelle + Kevin but also be part of an amazing reunion for each family. On August 1, 2023, you will be part of joining our families and friends to become ONE family at last! Please take some time and browse the website to read our story, get to know the wedding party, get all of the details on where to stay and what to do in South Lake Tahoe, timeline of events and wedding details, and much more....

Where it all began...
Michelle + Kevin met through mutual friends in Downtown Morgan Hill one summer night in 2011. We dated for a couple of months until we made it official on August... the 1st. Throughout dating, we enjoyed all of the fun adventures a new couple gets to experience: Michelle met and became best friends with Kevin's 2 wonderful children, Angelina and Greyson, Kevin starting and running his own business, moving into our own home together, getting a puppy.... and then a kitty..... and then another rescue puppy.

We also did a lot of traveling, going to VW car shows/meets, going out for a drive in our his + hers Audi’s, or out on a joy ride on the Harley. We also loved going to the beach, mountains, lakes with the kids, hiking, swimming, laughing, partying, staying out with friends, and visiting family.... we really did it all. Out of all of that, the most favorite of our things to do is to stay at our home, enjoying the life we built together in such a short amount of time while falling in love with each other as each day went.

The Proposal
For our TEN year anniversary, Michelle + Kevin organized a 10 day, 2600 mile road trip to the Pacific Northwest. After the lightning CZU fires the Bay Area experienced and them almost losing their home in 2020, Michelle’s parents, Richard and Cheryl, had to move out of California to Winston, Oregon. It had been almost a year since Michelle saw her parents last so, of course, that would be our first pit stop. Unbeknownst to Michelle, Kevin asked Richard for his blessing and his daughter’s hand in marriage. Of course, Richard gave him his blessing and decided not to share the exciting news to Cheryl, as she would probably spill the beans out of excitement!

We had 9 more days to go on this road trip and Kevin was holding onto one of his biggest kept secrets... EVER! On the next day of the trip, we headed to the Oregon Coast and north towards Washington. It wouldn't be until the 3rd day of the trip that we arrived to Forks, Washington ... yes, where the Twilight movies were made. We booked an AirBnB tent in a secluded campground right next to the river down the street from Rialto Beach. We made it to the beach just in time for sunset. The beach was straight out of a fairytale PNW movie with foggy and dewy climate, brisk with cold, breezy salt water that hit and refreshed your face after driving all day. The timber-wood and evergreen forest painted a picture of no other beach we have ever been too before. The pod of humpback and gray whales graced us with their presence just 40 yards off the rocky shore. The fog was low but the setting sun was breaking through just enough to paint the sky a golden orange and burnt red haze. The beach was filled with other beachgoers but to us, Californians, it was basically empty.

Michelle noticed Kevin was acting rather odd and finicky, not really wanting to stop and stay in one place. He was insistent on going back to this forest but Michelle was questioning, why would we go to the forest if we came for the beach?! Hmmm.... anyways, after playing around for sometime on the drifted timber wood, we found a little out-cove and sat down to take it all in. This place was pure magic and we had never been happier in that moment. We talked about that day's travels, adventures, stresses of a car ride, and the hangryness that hit Michelle, the cute doggos on the beach, and our plans for the rest of the trip.

After some time, we proceeded to get up to walk back to the car. Michelle turned opposite of Kevin because the wind blew her hair into her face, just to turn back around and see Kevin on one knee with a ring perfectly sit in a custom-made ring box. Michelle was in absolute disbelief as I did not see this coming at all! I literally could not form words out of my mouth and instead the tears started to roll down my cheeks. The rest was history after I finally muttered, "YES!" We hugged, kissed, laughed, and exchanged "I Love You's."

We walked back up towards the car but stopped to get the last of the gorgeous sun setting on this perfect beach to take in this quintessential moment. Michelle immediately FaceTimed her Mom (thinking she already knew at this point - but Dad never told her!) and with Dad in the room we told them we were engaged! Cheryl screamed full of excitement and immediately started crying and so did we... again. That's when Dad dropped the bomb on her that he already knew and couldn't tell her, fear of her spilling the beans. He made the right call. We called Kevin's parents as well as the kids to share the fun news. Everyone was so happy for us... and we're given a couple of, "It's about time!" and "Finally!"

As some of you may know, Kevin is a veryyy private man. He does not like to make a spectacle of himself, so because of this he wanted the proposal to be extremely private with no witnesses, no cameras, just us. Which I can appreciate. Remember when I said he was insistent on going to the forest on the beach? This is why! Now, he did get what he wished for.... mostly. His proposal was for us, and ended up being only for us which is why I didn't go much into detail there.

After our phone calls, we truly headed back to the parking lot where we walked past two older gentlemen. Michelle noticed the two men whispering to each other while glancing our way... hmmm. Finally, they walked up to us, stopping us in our path and said, "Hey! I think you are the two that I got this amazing picture of in front of that sunset!" He excitedly asked if we would like to see this photograph.... DUH! He scrambled for his phone, pulled up the photo, and enthusiastically handed it over to us. The photo on the back of the Save the Date you received is the photo the man took of us. Only us, minutes after the proposal and talking to our families. We cherish this photo, and we hope you enjoy it as well now with a pretty rad story behind it.

Oh, yea....the date of the proposal:
August 1st, 2021.

Do you notice a trend? ;)

Why Tahoe?
Kevin basically grew up and spent the majority of his childhood in South Lake Tahoe with his parents in the Tahoe Keys. It's a special place to Kevin and we started going up there just about every season for the first few years of dating that it became special to us. We knew immediately that one day we will move from the Bay Area to Tahoe. It is our home-away-from-home top escape destination. We couldn't think of a more fitting location to celebrate our love and to start our new chapter.

Living your life each day with the one you were meant to be with, made time fly by that was so natural and fun, that it already felt like we were married. We would love nothing more than for you to join us on our TWELVE year anniversary and witness us finally doin' the damn thang!
